Become active at Gotlands nation:
What is student life really about? How do you find your place within student-life?
By getting active at the nation, of course!
Whether you want to try out what it’s like to work in the pub, at dinners and in the kitchen, or want to run music-, cultural- or sporting events, nation life will give you the best experiences of what it means to be a student. The community and all the events that hides within the nation’s walls is waiting for you to experience.
If you want to know more about the different positions available at the Nation, you can contact the Election Committee at val@gotlandsnation.se or come in to see the First Curator during office hours.
Landskap
The landskap is a large meeting that has the highest decision-making power in the nation. The landskap is your opportunity as a member to influence the present and the future of the nation. Every member who has paid their nation fee for the semester has the right to participate and vote.
If you are interested in applying for any of the positions that are up for election, contact val@gotlandsnation.se.
Scholarships
As a member of Gotlands nation, you can apply for the nation’s scholarships. There are two types of scholarships – the ones maintained by the nation alone and the ones maintained by Uppsala University. The scholarships that are maintained by the nation are published on the nations’ website and social medias. General information regarding the scholarships from Uppsala University can be found on the University’s website for scholarships.
Housing
As a member of the Gotland Nation, you are also entitled to apply for our housing. The nation’s housing is managed by the Gotland Nation Housing Foundation. In proportion to our membership, we have a lot of housing, which means that you rarely have to wait long to get hold of housing through us. We also have several dorm-rooms with priority for new students.
In the nation’s housing queue, each member receives points based on the number of semesters they have been a member of the nation. By taking on a position at the nation, you can also collect additional housing points, up to 4 points per semester.
Available rooms and apartments are published on the nations Facebook page.
Library
Gotlands nation’s library is being cared for by the nation’s library committee, the oldest committee of the nation. The Library committee consists of the Librarian, the Archivist and a handful of committee members.

The Library is thankful for donations in the form of money or books on the Library’s topics.
